These last couple of weeks have left me completely full of gratitude. Awesome snow, ski runs that have taken my breath away, and times with family that will stay with me forever.

Last week, after what is probably the best day of skiing I’ve ever had – following Matt into the bumpy, knee deep powdery pretty steep trees, loving it, and going back for more, along with a few more black bump runs I never thought I’d do – it took us eight hours to drive home.

EIGHT HOURS. The drive home from Eagle should have been two hours, tops. But, bomb cyclone. Or whatever the hell it was they were referring it to as. Vail Pass closed. Cop cars pushing passenger cars up the hill from Silverthorne to the tunnel. The dead stopped cars from Idaho Springs down to Evergreen. Getting back on the highway after Evergreen and looking to see if the gates were down every on ramp because we really thought we were doing something illegal. The flashy lights passing us like we were rolling backwards the GIANT sigh of relief when we finally hit 6th again and the road cleared up…

And then this week. Making all the right choices and getting to spend almost two entire days with my cousins. Remembering how nice it is to just chill and easy pizza sitting on the floor of the condo with people that have known you your entire life and love you for who you are. Getting to ski an amazing bluebird day while getting talked into doing a run (or two) that you weren’t sure you’d ever do again, and loving it. Getting to spend even more bonus time hanging out and having great conversations when their dinner plans got pushed back a few hours…

I’m so ridiculously grateful for all of it…
