A-Basin is still open! Never in a million years did I think I would get to go skiing THREE DAYS after my 40th birthday…! That was cool. And my goodness, it was still winter conditions up there. May 28th, snowing, and 26 degrees when we arrived in the morning. Crazy.

It ended up being better than I thought. The snow wasn’t awesome, kinda crunchy, so I did a run when we got there and decided I’d had enough. I have a race on Saturday, after all. Don’t want to be too tired for that… So I hung out inside while Matt did another few runs.

He came back in and suggested a Bloody Mary. I’m not really one to turn that down, so into the bar we went. Yum!

After a couple of those bad boys, I went back out and had a great afternoon tooling around on the skis! It helped that the sun tried to sneak out for a second and we could see way better. And that the snow softened up just a little.

Another one checked off the list! …unless of course A-Basin is still open on July 4th… The list says June, but they’re only open on weekends and we work weekends, so this will have to do!
