Sometimes you just have to think things through, cut your losses, and figure something else out.
We were supposed to go skiing in Steamboat this weekend, but with highs in the 50s during the day and lows in the 20s at night, conditions were going to be an icy shit show in the morning and a mashed potato shit show in the afternoon. So we decided to be responsible adults, save ourselves the money from the hotel, and basically go out as much as we wanted here at home. We figured no matter how much we went out, it would still be less expensive than also paying for a hotel in Steamboat.
We already had Sunday off, so we were actually able to do things with our friends. That was novel. We split up boys and girls, the boys rode bikes and the girls ran. We were going to go to New Terrain afterwards, but there were SO many people. We really didn’t feel like waiting.
We ended up grabbing some food and booze and heading to Jeff and Sarah’s backyard, where we just hung out and had a great time for the afternoon.
Monday morning, we decided going out for breakfast would be fun. For some reason, we almost never go out for breakfast. We walked over to The Lobby, with their awesome bottomless mimosas…. THAT was fun! 🤩

The only problem with bottomless mimosas is that they make you SUPER sleepy…. And lazy for the rest of the day. So there was definitely some napping going on when we got home. Then we went going to ride bikes to Platt Park and have some beers, but we were really tired. We ended up running a couple errands and just picking up a four pack to have with the grilled sausages on the deck. Worked out well.

The next two days were more of the same, really. We finally got to ride bikes to the bar, hitting up Infinite Monkey Theorem on Tuesday, and walking over to British Bulldog (which FINALLY reopened!) on Wednesday.
All in all, we made the right call staying home. Some days, you just gotta do what you gotta do. It was a good time.
