FINALLY! A solid three days of skiing, staying up in the mountains and enjoying some spring conditions! And powder, actually, also… Last week was AWESOME.
We finally decided that we were going to spend a couple nights up in the mountains – it’s one of our favorite things to do and we just hadn’t gotten to do it in over a year – and found reservations at the Best Western in Winter Park that weren’t ridiculously expensive.
Monday was glorious spring skiing. I probably did more runs that day than the rest of the season combined. I even voluntarily went in the bumps! And we got to sit outside, take off our ski jackets, and enjoy a beer outside! SO nice!

Tuesday dawned with fresh snow. EIGHT inches up at the resort! Can we say powder day?!?!? The snow was incredible, but my legs were pretty fried from the day before, dammit, so I stopped early and hung out at the car til Matt was finished. My toes were so damned cold I almost screamed when the feeling came back into them… Ugh. My least favorite part.
Dinner that night was awesome, too. We found this Asian-fusion-taco place, Pepe Osaka, right next to the hotel, and tried it. The pineapple infused tequila margaritas and ahi tuna poke tacos were to DIE for! SO good!

After dinner, we went back to the hotel where we ACTUALLY played some dominos – so glad I actually took them with us!
Wednesday morning we packed up all our stuff and headed back out for a few more hours of hell on my quads. The snow was still really good from the previous day’s snow, so we got a solid half day in before heading back home. Great few days in the hills!
