Boy oh boy. I don’t know if it’s the beginning of a new year, or an effect from all the pandemic crap from the last two years, but we’ve started dreaming about our future, and damn, we’re excited!
To be fair, we’ve always had dreams and goals – pay off our house and rent it out while we buy another one and live on an island somewhere, figure out a way to travel more and see the world while we’re at it…. But it’s suddenly become a bit bigger.
Matt has always wanted to live on a sailboat. I’ve always been kind of reticent, fearing I’d get seasick or something, but while we were in Florida, he started talking about it again, and this time, it seems like a fine idea to me.
I’ve always wanted to life in an RV and travel around the country, which Matt has always found boring (really?!?! Boring?!?!?). Sheesh. But I came up with a harebrained idea of my own – why don’t we drive said RV from Alaska to Patagonia? Realistic? Seems to be, except for one little bit in Central America where there’s no road. There’s gotta be a ferry or something, right?
And so here we are. Sixteen kinda of fired up, watching endless YouTube videos, and talking about it. Now, to figure out how to make enough money to survive on the road….
