We went camping at Lake Pueblo State Park this spring to get out of the cold in Denver for a long weekend (read that post here). While we were there, we took advantage of how close we were, and we went to Bishop Castle. Holy. SHIT. I’m not sure what kind of crack that guy is on, but the place was SOMETHING. I don’t even know how to describe it. I mean, it seemed stable enough. Till you went out on some of the wrought iron balconies that you could see through. And the spiral staircases on end, some of which had sturdy handrails. I spent half the time fascinated and the other half trying not to piss my pants as I thought of stepping through the floor at some point… I’m glad we went, not sure if I need to repeat that in the next decade, if ever….
