1 (2005) – Moab
We were supposed to go to New Orleans, but a little storm named Hurricane Katrina kinda ruined those plans…

2 (2006) – Austin
Matt had to go to Austin for training for his new job, so we called it our anniversary trip. We got to go to San Antonio for a day, at least.

3 (2007) – Colorado
A friend got married in Colorado, and we went. We spent the entire drive home across Kansas trying to figure out how to move.

4 (2008) – RRG climbers cabin
Our friends had a cabin at the Red River Gorge in Kentucky, and they invited us along.

5 (2009) – Estes Park – Wildwood Inn
Our first anniversary living in Colorado. We had NO IDEA where to go, so we kinda randomly picked a place.

6 (2010) – Glenwood Springs
This was our first trip to Glenwood. We LOVE some hot springs!

7 (2011) – Great Sand Dunes/ land Thanksgiving debacle
We tried to get out to our land, and there was way too much snow to get to it. So we decided to go to Great Sand Dunes National Park instead. We were NOT disappointed!

8 (2012) – Salida – Mountain Goat Lodge
I don’t even remember how I found this little place, but it was aweseome! And bonus, we got to take our pup with us, it was pet friendly!

9 (2013) – Denver – Book of Mormon
We didn’t come up with anywhere creative this year, and Book of Mormon was playing in town ON our anniversary, so we “went to Denver.”
Somehow, we have no pictures of this day. 🙄
10 (2014) – Costa Rica
This was our first “trip of a lifetime.” We wanted to do something big for our ten year, and this was it. Boy was it amazing!

11 (2015) – Mt. Princeton Hot Springs
We actually got to stay at the hot springs this time. SO nice!

12 (2016) – Palisade
Wine tasting by bike FTW!

13 (2017) – Estes Park
We went back to Estes Park and this time, we got something like 16″ of snow while we were there!

14 (2018) – Telluride
We’d never been to this little mountain town, and it was beautiful! Unfortunately, it was still between seasons, so not the whole town was open…

15 (2019) – Puerto Rico
Our first trip to Puerto Rico was amazing. It was on this trip that the dream of maybe moving there was born. Beaches AND mountains??? Yes please!

16 (2020) – Southern Utah
Ahhh, 2020. Pandemic year. We went on a road trip to Utah and we hit all the national parks down there. They were spectacular!

17 (2021) – Texas
We called this one our “Best Friends” anniversary. We went to Austin and raced the Austin Rattler on the day of our anniversary with our best friends, Matt and his buddy on mountain bikes and my BFF and I ran a 50K. Then we continued on and camped on the beach on the Gulf coast. There was SO much sand everywhere!

18 (2022) – Puerto Rico
We decided to go back to Puerto Rico, and it just so happened that Hurricane Fiona hit about a week before we were set to go. We contacted our Air BnB hosts, and they told us it would all be fine, so we went!

19 (2023) – Sedona (UT/AZ/NM road trip)
I was running a race in Moab, so we decided to use that as a jumping off point and head all over the southwest. It was amazing – I LOVE the desert!

20 (2024) – Palisade
We made it to 20 years!!! We went HUGE this year, using that as our excuse to take a live aboard sailing class, go to Puerto Rico again, and we’re going to Peru TODAY!
But for our actual anniversary, we headed to Palisade again with the intention of recreating our wineries by bike trip, but the weather (and Matt’s ankle) decided not to cooperate. More on that later!
