Last week, we got the chance to take a total chill out few days up in the hills in Frisco. Long story short, Matt’s parents had a condo and that fell through for them, and we got to stay there for a few days.

This condo was probably the best one we’ve ever stayed in. King sized bed in the master, great big couch in the living room, not-terrible gallery kitchen that was totally functional….. And the view! Oh. My. GOD. The view from the living room was AWESOME.

Coffee with a view.

We left Denver Sunday night after work, and we were both kinda beat up from our second Covid shot the day before… We didn’t feel terrible, but also not great. A good night’s sleep in that awesome bed, and we were both fine the next day.

The nice thing was, we had no plans. Zero. Which, when you’re as crazy running around as we are all the time, is really kinda nice. We made some breakfast (something boring like bagels 🙄), and headed out for a little hike.

Yay, AllTrails. I love that I can get on there anywhere and find stuff that’s close, and it generally doesn’t suck. I had found a little 5-ish mile hike along the shores of Lake Dillon, and it did not disappoint.

The views were pretty, the trail wasn’t hard to follow, and the post holing was at a minimum. There was more snow than I would have thought, but with the mostly warm temperatures, it just served as entertainment to occasionally fall in.

Dinner was boring, we just went to the grocery and grabbed a frozen pizza. There was wine, so it was sorta fancy! Thank goodness for having an oven at the condo!

We had some of our favorite wine by the fire, though! Check out Mesa Park Wines!

Tuesday, the weather was supposed to go to shit. We had ourselves a fantastic breakfast of eggs and bacon (and mimosas!) at the condo, and set out on another hike.

Mmmmm…. Mimosas….

This one was right off the highway, just over in Silverthorne. Not a bad hike, but not awesome either. We sorta lost the trail up high where the snow and the giant flowing puddles muddled the obvious.

By that point, we were ready to turn around anyway. We made it back to the car as the snowflakes got thicker and thicker…

The rest of the time up there was nice and chill. We met a friend for dinner Tuesday evening at Ollie’s, and went out today breakfast on Wednesday before heading down the hill.

All in all, it was a nice, chill few days.
